Designer and Art Director, The Washington Post

2017–Present
• Designs a weekly magazine, working on covers, well layouts, and front-of-book pages. Designs newspaper pages on occasion.
• Leads visual planning for select enterprise and magazine feature stories
• Works with photo, graphics, and story editors to establish timelines for projects and determine visual assets 
• Commissions editorial illustrations from freelance artists while managing illustration budget
• Creates in-house photo illustrations using stock and wire images
• Maintains a consistent and efficient print-to-digital workflow
• Produces digital presentations of enterprise projects
• Manages @washingtonpostdesign Instagram account to promote design work and visuals from The Washington Post’s design team. Built strategies and developed templates for visual consistency.
• (In 2018-2019) Worked on a small cross-newsroom team to create Google AMP stories, a new mobile-first template, and helped develop the template for further use across the design team
